Q3 - 2005:  VirDIS (Virtual Disk Image Server), the new Windows version of the VirtualSCSI Library, is now released.  Aimed initially at Audio Recording Engineers it is a general, easy-to-use Windows interface to emulate on a PC 'real' SCSI storage devices like Hard Disk and CD-R.

Q3 - 2004:  VirtualSCSI support for Fibre Channel, SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) and iSCSI will be announced.

Product News

September, 2005:  Support for Tagged Queuing added.

February, 2004:  Support for Linked Commands added.

January 2004:  For VirtualSCSI developers a unique identification mechanism is now available for tying in with 3rd party-developed VirtualSCSI Target applications.  3rd party products can be programmatically linked only to Target Bus Adapters earmarked for the development firm - other TBAs will fail to work.

September 2003:  ViSTA source code has been split into separate modules allowing developers to choose a more effective starting platform for their Target application.  These modules are:

  • Processor device-type
  • Hard Disk utilizing system RAM
  • Hard Disk utilizing local disk (IDE, SCSI, FC, etc.)
  • Hard Disk utilizing file-image either local or remote (see diagram)

July 2003:  The VirtualSCSI Target Mode Library has added 2 NEW emulations: disk images can now be stored in file-images both locally or over the network.  These new emulation features allow users much greater flexibility and mobility in their VirtualSCSI Target solutions.  For example, a Target file can thus be viewed as a disk and moved and mounted in different Host hardware and operating system environments.
